'If A Lion Could Talk': Knowing Animals, Knowing Ourselves

We are excited to welcome Professor Kari Weil of Wesleyan University. Author of Precarious Partners: Horses and their Humans in Nineteenth-Century France (2020) and Thinking Animals: Why Animal Studies Now? (2012), Professor Weil is a University Professor of Letters with appointments at the College of the Environment, as well as in the Department of Environmental Studies and Department of Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Professor Weil has published widely on feminist theory, 19th and 20th century French and European literature, with a particular focus on gender, and in recent years, on human-animal relations and representations of non-human animals.
